Basic Concept
This application will have to have 2 distinct halves. The first half is a system administration, that will allow the administrator to create the application they desire and modify how he sees fit. This will include what data to collect, the layout, page template, color scheme style, security and other relevant config. The second half will be the engine that operates on the generated metadata and allows users to interact with it.
End Goal
100% success would be if a regular user could use an "application" that latetrain generated, and would never know.
Applications that should be possible to generate:
- recipe db
- guestbook
- blog
Addl Features
- Page templates
- import/export - XML?
- Generated on the fly and Pre-generated (cached) pages
- Capability for generated apps to be integrated into other pages
- Plugins for additional capabilities
- Prebuilt plugins or built in for common tasks (ex: email on save, rss feeds)
- 100% customizable user security (ex: anonymous view, user to edit)
- Possible mediawiki-like history?
