Companies
From Snowulf
This is going to my el-massive list of companies. What kind of companies you ask? Anyone that I've dealt with. Generally the kind of companies that I've purchased products from and/or received support from. Since I dont like alot of these companies, I wont link them - use google. Lets be honest, YMMV - these are strictly my experiences.

Dell
- I hate to admit this, but I've started recommending Dell to friends/family when they need a new computer. Their computers are generally well priced for what you get, and well made.
- That being said their "Dell Certified Technicians" (aka the 3rd party guys who come out to replace hardware on-site when it has failed)... SUCK BALLS. Most of these guys are totally incompetent. I wouldn't trust them with a computer if my life depended on it.
Averatec
- DO NOT BUY A COMPUTER FROM THESE PEOPLE EVER. YOU'LL BE SORRY, I CAN ASSURE YOU.
- Now that that is out of the way... I really really hate Averatec. I purchased one laptop from them a while back, because the machine was cheap and had a decent graphics card (I wanted to play games). Well my mistake was forgetting the old idiom "You get what you pay for". The hardware was fine, still works... So where is the downfall? They don't update the drivers.... EVER. If you are a gamer, you know that updating drivers is critical to getting new games to run properly and decently. After I had my laptop for 18 months they still hadn't updated the graphics drivers once. I called, and called, and email, and complained, and asked, and whined... To no avail. I ended up having to file a complaint with the BBB before they'd update the drivers. So to resolve the complaint they updated the drivers once. Since then? Nada.
- I absolutely refuse to by a product from this company ever again.
Toshiba
- I haven't had a Toshiba laptop in a while, but my father had many when I was young (which failed repeatedly). We called then 'Toshitba', and you know what? Its still true. I did have a dell laptop a while back that had 6 hard drives fail in less than 6 months. On the last failure, I pop'd the laptop open (yes, I took apart a laptop) and found a Toshitba labeled hard drive. Every time I seem to have a flakey component, it seems to have a Toshitba label on it.
Cingular / AT&T
- They are a telecommunications company, they are inherently evil. I have tons of trouble with my personal phone. Setting up our companies phone was a P.I.T.A. as they kept screwing up the order. Once in a great while you will find someone in their customer support department who is capable. Those people you just want to hug, and get speed dial information for.
SBC / AT&T
- All in all, they haven't been that terrible. Again, being a telecommunication company - they are evil. I need DSL though, and before you suggest cable... Cable SUCKS. Charter/Comcast/Etc are even worse than AT&T. I'll keep my DSL, thank you very much. To be fair, the last time I ordered DSL, I had a problem on setup. I called them, they ran some simple diagnostics, and said they would send out a tech. That SAME DAY a tech showed up and got the DSL working. It was like... Wow.
Speakeasy
- I love speakeasy's customer service. I've never had DSL from them, but they are handy guys. They can and will tell you all the information about you and your DSL you ever wanted to know. Unfortunately, their service is just too expensive.
