Beef Stroganoff

2 lbs. beef (round, rump or sirloin)  cut into 1 inch strips
`1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup butter
1 4 oz can mushrooms
1 medium onion, chopped
1 bouillon cube dissolved in 1 1/2 cups water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. marjoram
`1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/4 cup catsup
1/2 cup sour cream 1 clove garlic finely chopped  (optional_
 
     Coat meat with flour.  Melt butter in pan.  Add meat and brown well.  Add all the other ingredients except sour cream.  cover pan.  Reduce heat, and simmer about 1 1/2 hours.  Stir occasionally.  Add more  water if necessary.  Just before serving add the sour cream, and heat 2 or 3 minutes longer until well blended.  Serve hot over buttered noodles or hot cooked rice.  Serves six to eight
